- Check whether others are in need of assistance. Stay calm and keep your cool. If the vehicles won't obstruct the traffic, take photos of the accident scene, damaged vehicles, the surroundings and the position of the vehicles with your hand phone or digital camera before they were moved. Please check safety before you get off the car.
- If no injury is involved, do drive your vehicle to the side of the road or somewhere safe. Take down the following information:
- The number plates of all other vehicles involved
- The names and addresses of the other driver(s) /owner(s)
- Any witnesses and their contact details
- The names of insurers for the other driver(s)
- Avoid discussing liability, i.e. which party is at fault, with others involved in the accident, or their lawyers. Refer all communications from them to your insurer immediately.
- Under the Motor Claim Framework (MCF) regulation, please go to your insurer's reporting centre to lodge a accident report within 24 hours or by the next working day.
- If an accident involves injury, do not shift the car, call the police straight away. You must also make a police report within 24 hours of an accident involving:
- Injury
- Damage to a government vehicle or property
- A foreign-registered vehicle
- A hit-and-run vehicle
- A pedestrian or cyclist
- If there was only minor damages to both vehicles and both parties agreed to settle privately, they may proceed to their preferred workshop to get the necessary arrangement to do a private settlement. Hock Wah Motor provide such services as well.
- Do not accept any offer by roadside touts offering free tow-truck services and referral to unauthorized workshops with free use of rental cars. They may compromise your claim. Insist on your decesion to proceed to your Insurer's authorized workshop or reporting centre for further assistance.

Important Notice (from Sketch Plan)
- Please report correctly the details of the accident to speed up the claims process.
- The Sketch Plan must be completed by the Policyholder and/or the Authorised Driver.
- Information provided must be as truthful and accurate as possible. Any wilful misrepresentation or withholding of material facts may allow insurance companies to repudiate policy liability.
- The issue and acceptance of this Sketch Plan by insurance companies is not an admission of policy liability on the part of the insurance companies.
- Any false reporting may be referred to the Police for investigation.
- The report will be forwarded by the insurers of the GIA Records Management Centre established by the General Insurance Association of Singapore (GIA) for archiving and that copies of this report will for a fee be made available upon application by interested parties.
- By the lodgement of this report to the insurers, you hereby consent to the archiving of this report at the centre and to copies of the report being made available aforesaid.
